Bid on a Miata out of state on eBay...I feel like that's not smart. I'm sure I'll get outbid, right? 3days to find out...

Buying cars sight unseen on the internet? What could go wrong.

Luckily you placed the bid under the eBay account of Dick Buttington, so eBay will have no choice but to dock him one feedback point if you flake.

I once bid 30 thousand on the Death Proof car that Archduke posted here on Oppo. It was not a smart move. I may not have been sober at the time.

Awesome. It certainly wasn't that level of crazy, just makes me nervous. I've never spent more than like $100 on eBay, so bidding on a car is a bit insane

I'm just glad I didn't win that one, to be honest. It was a full two days of agony until I was eventually oubid.

Ebay motors bids are not a binding contract, you can just tell the seller you don't want it and he can't do anything about it.

I ended up with a motorcycle and a truck this way on separate occasions thinking the same thing.... Whoops. The bike was great but the truck did have one bad injector and had been smoked in, otherwise OK.

Nothing worse than bidders who do so and then don't follow through. It's not like you can do it by accident; and you can retract your bids before it ends.

Last time I tried that I ended up with a £330 X1/9.

Completely worth it :)
